Who was Jesus?

Of course we know that Jesus was Jewish. He went about his Father's business, He lived at home until he was 33, and his mother was sure he was God; but...

There are three good arguments that Jesus was Black:

1. He called everyone brother.

2. He liked Gospel.

3. He didn't get a fair trial.

Then there are three good arguments that Jesus was an American Indian:

1. He was at peace with nature.

2. He ate a lot of fish.

3. He talked about the Great Spirit.

And three that He may have been Irish:

1. He never married.

2. He was always telling stories.

3. He loved green pastures.

And three that he may have been a Californian:

1. He never cut his hair.

2. He walked around barefoot all the time.

3. He started a new religion.

But the most compelling evidence suggests that Jesus was a woman.

Because:

1. He fed a crowd at a moment's notice when there was virtually no food.

2. He kept trying to get a message across to a bunch of men who just didn't get it.

3. And even when He was dead, He had to get up because there was still work to do.
Amen.

Seafood Casserole

I hate it when people post bogus warnings, but this one is real! If someone comes to your front door saying they are checking for ticks due to the warm weather and asks you to take your clothes off and dance around with your arms up, DO NOT DO IT! THIS IS A SCAM! They only want to see you naked. I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid.

Here's one of my favorite recipes! It's delicious!

Caterpillar season

I was taking care of my roses today, while my son, 9, was keeping me company. I told him, " I love roses, aren't roses nice?" He looked at me and said, " but you're supposed to love me!"

He brought his caterpillars so I could see them.  He says they're unconscious right now.  They've been in a jar for 2 days (all mothers will be smiling now, I'm sure). I didn't want to burst his bubble, he's so proud of them. He's named them Mr. Snits, Mr. Oats and Trecko.  I went outside and found 3 new caterpillars, slipped them into the jar... viola! No more coma!

January - the month to organize!

Last month I decided to make life easier.  My baking items were scattered here and there and in the pantry.

Tupperware modular mates go on sale every January so I splurged on my kitchen.  I finally have my baking center organized and it fits in one section!  I bake bread, muffins, cookies, pie crusts, etc.  Everything is in reach!  Sometimes I bake bread with almonds, pecans or chickpea flour.  I use brown rice flour, tapioca flour and sweet potato flour too.  Mmmm, I'm hungry now.

Technology!!!

It is overwhelming to keep up with all the technology out there, isn't it?  I have 90+ friends on facebook, 285 followers on Twitter and 5,897 subscribers on YouTube.

Why doesn't somebody consolidate it all into one to make it easier???

We could call it something like....  youTwitFace.com

Civil War Records

There are 50 pages of records for my great, great grandfather's service in the Civil War!    So far, this is what I know.... He was wounded in the battle of Vicksburg, Mississippi on December 29, 1863.  Shrapnel from a cannon ball hit him in the head, fortunately the wound was minor.  I have his signatures on several documents, and also his wife.

My great, great grandfather helped burn Atlanta.  Remember the scene from Gone with the Wind where Rhett and Scarlett barely escape with their lives as they pass a 5 story building full of flames? ... Yes, my grandpa was one of those dirty yankees in Georgia!

An 85 lb. soldier
from the Civil War
He served as a private from beginning to the end of the Civil War.  His company "was reenrolled at Woodville Alabama on the 1st day of January 1864 was with the Army of Gen Sherman on the March from Atlanta to Savannah in the State of Georgia – That the soldiers had no tents but Shelter Tents that on said March by reason of Exposure and hard marching the said James M. contracted the Chronic Disease – The same was in the line of his duty.  The Army left Atlanta Oct 3rd 1864 and got to Savannah December 24th 1864."

The disease he contracted toward the end of the war disabled him for the rest of his life.  When he went to war he weighed 180 lbs, healthy for a man who was 5' 10" tall.  When he arrived back home at the end of the war he weighed 85 lbs.

He fought in many battles, I'll have to make a list, watch for that in the near future.
