1st Place Blue Ribbon winner

 I was happily surprised to see a blue ribbon hanging on my quilt at the quilt show yesterday!  I used 32 fat quarters to make 560 HSTs.  I was able to do most of the sewing while my husband and I were on vacation at Williamsburg, Virginia.  I took breaks from all those triangles by going to see the sites!

The pattern is called Triangle Star by Edyta Sitar from Laundry Basket Quilts. The pattern has been retired and is no longer available.  I was fortunate enough to find what I needed a couple years ago and I finally got around to making the quilt last year.  I finished it 2 weeks ago. 

Triangle Star Ribbon Winner

 I entered my Triangle Star quilt in the Capital Quilters Guild Quilt Show which is open today and tomorrow in Raleigh at the NC State Fairgrounds.  It won an honorable mention ribbon.

This quilt has 560 HSTs and I'm proud to say every point is perfect!

Award-winning quilt!

 I entered a quilt in the Raleigh, North Carolina quilt show held by Capital Quilters Guild. It was held on Friday, and I was pleased to see a special ribbon on the quilt when I visited the quilt show. The ribbon was an award of merit for outstanding achievement in quiltmaking. It was given by the National Association of Certified Quilt Judges. This quilt took well over 100 hours to make over 14 months. It has 7934 pieces and 716 two-inch blocks. 

2 of my customers are so sweet!  They sent a photo of themselves in front of the quilt.  

Hour Glass wallhanging

 My quilt guild is holding a quilt show this weekend in Mebane, NC. Opening day is tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 21st.  I spent the day today volunteering at the quilt show, helping hang quilts and working on the programs that will be handed out to each visitor.  I love quilt shows!  A lot of work goes into organizing and planning.  

I entered a small wall hanging, which won a ribbon for Honorable Mention!

Award winning quilt

 I am excited to share my Circa 1880 Nine Patch quilt which won a 1st Place Blue Ribbon in a quilt show given by the Hearts & Hands Quilt Guild in Sanford, NC.  

The quilt was made using a pattern by Pam Buda, which I enlarged to make a queen size quilt.  It has 716 blocks and 7,934 pieces in it.  I started it in January 2020, finished the top in 2021 and longarmed it in August 2021.
