Christmas tree O Christmas tree
Today is a wonderful day! It's cold and rainy outside but we have a fire in the fireplace and my sewing machine is humming away. I'm working on a new table runner, to take a break from Civil War reproduction fabric. I hope to finish our Christmas decoration this weekend, yes... I'm behind on getting everything up this year. Where does the time go???

Forget God
"It is when people forget God that tyrants forge their chains."
- Patrick Henry
"I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth--that God Governs the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?"
- Benjamin Franklin
"If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper; but if we and our posterity neglect its instruction and authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity."
- Daniel Webster
"I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever."
- Thomas Jefferson

One day I'll miss this age, right?
I grew up on a farm...bailed hay, drove a tractor from the time I was 8, walked beans... the whole nine yards, right? So I have a 9 yo son who is afraid of spider webs and all bugs in any form. Ok, so I can live with that... (the webs???) My dd caught a skink for him and he keeps it in his room.
In one week, we went from.... Ear-piercing scream followed by stampeding feet running towards me "MOOOOOO-M!!!" ...heavy breathing... "MOM, I actually almost got a spider web on me!" Very dramatic moment that took 2 days before he would go outside again... to... Stampeding feet running towards me "MOOOOM! Look what I caught!!!! ...shoves a hairy spider in my face, beaming smile....
So which is better??? A son afraid of bugs... or one who brings spiders in the house as a food source?

Habitat Restore sewing machine
Just came back from the Habitat Restore, there are 12 sewing machines
waiting to be loved. One was crying out to me as I left, a 1951 Singer 201 in a
nice table, missing the power cord, no attachments but the gears were so
stiff I could barely rotate the flywheel. Looked inside and it was
black with hardened crud. They wanted $125 for it. I explained to one
of the workers the machine was worthless as it was, but the table was
worth maybe $40. Left my name and phone number behind... maybe they'll
call me, maybe not. I need another Singer like I need a hole in the
head. Someone willing to put the time into it is all it needs. Poor thing needs major work though.

Who was Jesus?
Of course we know that Jesus was Jewish. He went about his Father's business, He lived at home until he was 33, and his mother was sure he was God; but...
There are three good arguments that Jesus was Black:
1. He called everyone brother.
2. He liked Gospel.
3. He didn't get a fair trial.
Then there are three good arguments that Jesus was an American Indian:
1. He was at peace with nature.
2. He ate a lot of fish.
3. He talked about the Great Spirit.
And three that He may have been Irish:
1. He never married.
2. He was always telling stories.
3. He loved green pastures.
And three that he may have been a Californian:
1. He never cut his hair.
2. He walked around barefoot all the time.
3. He started a new religion.
But the most compelling evidence suggests that Jesus was a woman.
Because:
1. He fed a crowd at a moment's notice when there was virtually no food.
2. He kept trying to get a message across to a bunch of men who just didn't get it.
3. And even when He was dead, He had to get up because there was still work to do.
Amen.
